Biography: Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Dillman credits her passion for improv to a kinship with comedienne Carol Burnett. "When I was six years old, I wanted to be Carol Burnett," she admits. "I stole everything from her and even wrote `Ed & Eunice' skits as a kid." Dillman was the youngest of three sisters whose mother worked in the corporate giving department at a mutual fund company. After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in theater at the University of Missouri, Dillman headed for Chicago. While in the Windy City, Dillman created and honed several of her favorite improv characters in the local theater scene, including stints at the Factory Theatre and at the Organic Theatre ("It was all loud, in-your-face comedy and a great learning experience, but you made no money"). After nine years, she left for Los Angeles in 1997 and got lucky right away when she found work in numerous TV commercials, including one spot for a marquee computer company that found her eye-to-eye with rock star Sting. Dillman's big break came when she made a video of her impersonation of Julia Child on a lark for a friend's birthday party in 2000. An agent attending the get-together was impressed enough to recommend her for an audition for The Wayne Brady Show that resulted in her being cast as a regular on the variety series. She was then cast as the weather-casting nun, Sister Brenda, in NBC's Good Morning, Miami. Along the way, she has also starred in the independent films After School Special, Larceny and Pot of Gold. This fall, in addition to Blue Collar TV, Dillman will appear in a recurring role on HBO's Emmy Award-winning Six Feet Under. Dillman is married to a commercial real-estate and research investment banker. In her leisure time, she enjoys sports (she's a major San Francisco 49ers fan), jogging, playing the piano, writing screenplays and walking her dog.
