Biography: Check-Out Catwalk Stunner Catriona A former check-out girl in Dunnes is now earning €13,000 per day as Ireland's biggest ever international model. Stunning Catriona Balfe (22), has become such a success that she's splashing out on her first home - a swish apartment in Manhattan. Catriona, who is signed to the Elite model agency, jets between the fashion capitals of New York, Paris and Milan. However, just a few years ago the dark-haired Irish model was packing bags at the check-out of Dunnes Stores in Rathmines in Dublin.This season alone Catriona appeared in 13 catwalk shows at New York fashion week and 12 in Paris fashion week. "She is the talk of all the designers. Marc Jacobs is a massive designer in America and he won't open a show without her. Yves St Laurent in Paris is the same", said Margaret Humphries of Assets model agency in Dublin. "She worked this season for Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, Christian LaCroix, Chanel and John Rocha. She also did an accessories campaign for Calvin Klein and a shoe campaign for Bally. You can't pick up a copy of any glossy magazine she's not in at the moment." The Assets boss said that Catriona's modelling talent shone from the very start and also revealed that Ireland's 22-year-old catwalk queen has not been changed by her stunning new-found success.
