She was sixteen years old and shortly after the commercial aired, she had already landed her role of Mallory Keaton on TV's highly rated show, "Family Ties" (1982). Austine Bateman, born February 19, 1966 in Rye, New York, is the daughter of Kent and Victoria. She is very close to her younger brother, actor Jason Bateman. When Austine Bateman was three, her family moved from Rye to Boston, where they lived for four years. They spent another four years in Salt Lake City before finally settling down in California. Her role as ditzy Mallory Keaton won Justine two Emmy nominations for supporting actress.
