Biography: Missy feels heat from Immigration over visa Last-minute model import Missy Rayder was welcomed at Sydney Airport on Saturday as one half of the American rescue package aimed at adding extra glamour to Mercedes Australian Fashion Week (MAFW). Rayder and her US modelling friend Maggie Rizer, who arrived yesterday for the week's official opening, were recruited late last week after model Elizabeth Jagger pulled out because of illness. Parade organisers scrambled to secure the two international headliners but, consistent with this year's trouble-plagued event, there was still a slight hiccup with Rayder's arrival. Emerging from Customs, the 22-year-old brunette told The Sun-Herald she had been forced to tell officials she was visiting as a student to gain entry. After questioning, Rayder was allowed through, describing immigration officials as strict. Her Australian agent, Helena Vitolins of work:models agency, explained Rayder's engagement was being billed directly to New York, avoiding the need for a working visa. Rayder began fittings with Marcs Baby Doll, one of four labels she has been signed to appear for on the catwalk.
