Biography: A native of New York City, Samantha Mathis has crafted a distinguished career in film, theater and television. Mathis will star in Salem's Lot, opposite Rob Lowe, with a cast that also includes Andre Braugher and Donald Sutherland. Salem's Lot will air on TNT in June. Previous to that she starred on Broadway in Arthur Miller's "The Man Who Had All the Luck," opposite Chris O'Donnell. She was last seen in the acclaimed Collected Stories, written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Donald Margulies and starring Tony winner Linda Lavin. The filmed production marked the reprisal of Mathis' and Lavin's noted performances from the Margulies play, which they originated at the Geffen Playhouse. Previously, she starred in TNT's monumental telefilm project, The Mists of Avalon, opposite Anjelica Huston, Joan Allen and Julianna Margulies. Mathis was also seen in The Simian Line in which she starred opposite William Hurt, Tyne Daly, Lynn Redgrave and Harry Connick, Jr. for director Linda Yellin. She was seen opposite Christian Bale and Reese Witherspoon in the critically acclaimed feature film version of American Psycho. Mathis also starred opposite Gretchen Mol, Tom Everett Scott and Matthew Settle in Trimark's film Attraction, a story of obsessive love. Mathis' feature film credits include starring roles in Broken Arrow, The American President, How to Make an American Quilt, Jack and Sarah, Little Women, Pump Up the Volume, This Is My Life, The Thing Called Love and Music of Chance. Mathis currently resides in Los Angeles.
