Self-assured without being self-important, Sara Cox has a wit and sense of fun that would endear her to anybody. Plus, she's got beauty and charm -- which, sadly, we can't see on the radio -- that is downright irrepressible.
Sara Cox has been a presenter on BBC Radio 1's The Breakfast Show since the spring of 2000. Originally a model, she was only the second woman to host one of Britain's most popular morning shows.
She was born on Friday the 13th in the town of Bolton, Lancashire, England -- so you wouldn't think that Sara Cox would have the best of luck. But after starting out as a model, she gradually made the transition to television and radio work, ending up at the BBC in 2000.
Sara Cox -- "Coxy" to her friends -- was born on December 13th, 1974, in Bolton, Lancashire, England. In spite of coming into the world on Friday the 13th, she seems to have suffered no ill effects. Growing up, she wanted to be "A man, firstly. Then a vet. Then a policewoman." In school Sara was a straight-A student, but she knew she didn't want to go on being a student, so when she turned 18, she tried her luck as a model.
