Teri was Playboy's Playmate of the Month for January 1992.
Suzi Simpson recently returned this year to the big screen with a small role in the Mark Wahlberg film Rock Star.
"I am more of a book nerd in real life so I enjoyed playing a bimbo who's only goal in life is to party with a famous rock band."
What makes that comment so surprising is that Suzi was Playboy's Miss January in 1992 and since then has gone to star in several feature films and countless commercials and music videos.
Suzi was born November 16, 1968 in Athens, Greece. She is the oldest of four children with a sister and two brothers. Due to her father's occupation in the Navy the family moved around a lot. She spent a lot of her childhood in such Ocean side locales as Maine, Florida, Malibu and California.
As she made her way through high school she saved up her money for college (by working in a Navy Mess Hall) before heading off to study dental hygiene. "I was doing great academically as an honor student when my bank ran dry and I didn't know what to do to pay my tuition."
It was around this time she began to model and soon found herself on the set of a Pepsi commercial with Michael Jackson. More modelling gigs like this followed and sure enough she was able to finish off her education. Obviously though, after graduation she headed back to Malibu where she spent most of her time doing the occasional modeling job.
As luck would have it Suzi met Playboy photographer David Mecey at a photo lab who in turn, convinced Suzi to pose for the magazine. She became Miss January 1992 and that notoriety landed the attention of director Andy Sidaris who was looking to cast another Babe in his Babes, Bullets and Bomb flicks. Suzi soon found herself as one of the leads in Andy Sidaris' Enemy Gold. This was quite a jump for a woman who had never been in more than a few minutes of commercial time.
"You need a lot of preparation if you really want to do a good job on the creative craft of acting. Very few are naturals. I have been coached and have attended various workshops and studios. I also like to write, in fact, it's my first love so it cracks me up that I keep getting thrown in front of the camera but if I keep getting offered parts who am I to say no right?!"
Success has never changed Suzi's attitude though: "The upside is you get to go to a lot of places and do a lot of things most people only dream about. Downside is that people can be so jealous and hypocritical. I guess? because they're just not happy people and they will take pop shots at you and make things up just for the sake of gossip."
As for the future Suzi has a few things up her sleeve...she is in talks to star in an as yet to be named Teen Comedy flick this summer and; "My 2002 Suzi Simpson calendar is on sale now and I am promoting that around the world as my profit from the calendar will go to a charity I love that is a shelter for battered and abused women and children. You can find it at www.suzisimpson.tv I am also putting the finishing touches on my charity website www.onlineaidfoundation.org where there will be links to many of my favorite charities and I can use my name to help do my part to make this world a better place!"
